Heartwood Fall Festival

Get ready for two days of autumn fun! Heartwood Preserve's Second Annual Fall Festival returns Sat., Oct. 10 and Sun., Oct. 11, from noon to 6 p.m., as thousands of pumpkins take over Heartwood Park. The free event lets attendees pick a complimentary pumpkin to decorate on-site or take home to carve. Enjoy all-day bingo with prizes, nine-hole putt-putt golf Saturday, and Under An Acre Adventures Sunday with farm animals and mini pony rides. Local food trucks will serve seasonal favorites. Watch Team Nebraska Snow Sculpting champion Matt Seeley carve giant pumpkins and share carving tips. Beforehand, Matt and world-renowned sculptor Carlos Miguel Ramirez Pereyra of Mexico will turn a dozen hay bales into a 10-foot sculpture, "Harvest of Imagination," featuring a scarecrow on a moon, on display all festival long for photos.
